This piece is a take on the Queen Anne tea table. Tea tables became fashionable first in England after it supplanted ale as the unofficial drink of high society. The Queen Anne tea table has remained an extremely popular form even though the custom of tea time has all but disappeared.

This piece takes unmistakeable elements from the Queen Anne tea table and applies it the more contemporary coffee table format. Hand carved cabriole legs, a molded top, and delicate proportions give this piece a lightness that belies the surface area of the top. Shown in Antique White with optional black stripes.
